Rainy Day Hike at Long Ridge Open Space Preserve

February 7, 2017

This weekend’s hiking adventure took us to Long Ridge Open Space Preserve. This was our first time visiting and we are happy to have seen it in all it’s wintery, rainy glory. The foggy, moss covered landscape of trees and fungi is definitely home to some mystical creatures and the flowing creek is a nature lover’s favorite soundscape.

Long Ridge – Hike Details

This loop is short, about 4 miles. You park on Skyline Boulevard across the highway from Upper Stevens Creek park. The trail takes you down into a field where you meet up with Peters Creek trail. Follow Peters Creek trail to Long Ridge trail for an easy loop.

Long Ridge isn’t the most exciting preserve in the area so I suggest visiting in the rainy season when the creek is flowing or during spring when the wildflowers are in bloom.
